Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
To help protect our staff and other service users, please stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days and do not visit our service if you, and/or any member of your household have:
- a new continuous cough
- a high temperature (of 37.8 degrees centigrade or higher)
Here is some helpful guidance to help you whilst you are staying at home:
If you have serious symptoms you cannot manage at home, use NHS 111 online (please only call NHS 111 if they cannot get online).
Walk-in/Sit and Wait/Outreach
To reduce the number of people sitting in our waiting rooms and thereby helping to delay the spread of the virus, we will be:
suspending sit and wait clinics, and offering telephone consultations (with follow up face to face appointments where clinically appropriate) for the following service users:
- those receiving/requiring PEP (a treatment for 28 days to prevent HIV infection after risky sex)
- emergency contraception
- those with symptoms
Please note that from 1 April 2020, sexual health and contraception services in Milton Keynes will be run by iCaSH, a free and confidential service. You will continue to receive the same high standard of care, provided by the same staff, in the same location. Sexual health services will remain at Milton Keynes Hospital from 1 April until the new bespoke town centre hub is ready in summer 2020. HIV services will remain at Milton Keynes Hospital. However, there will be a new phone number to call for appointments and queries – 0300 300 3030. This number is charged at a local rate.
Phones lines open at 8:30am Monday-Friday and 9.15am on Saturdays. Lines can get busy during peak times, so please be patient, keep trying or visit our sit & wait clinics.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
